Four VP artists, Mavado, Busy Signal, Tarrus Riley and Etana, have been nominated in the category of Best New Reggae Artist for the upcoming 13th annual MOBO Awards.
Beenie Man is also listed as a nominee for an award at the event that salutes Music of Black Origin each year.
Taking place at the Wembley Arena in London, England on October 15th, the ceremony will be a culmination of the online voting now in progress at www.mobo.com.
All the VP linked nominees have a strong presence on reggae and dancehall scenes internationally.
Each one has been to the top of charts everywhere and winning awards is not uncommon for most. Voted Best New Reggae Artist by Rolling Stone Magazine, Mavado was an overnight sensation and his album “Gangsta For Life” was one of VP’s best for 2007.
Mavado’s collaborations with hip-hop stars like: Jay-Z, Foxy Brown and G-Unit have helped to send him catapulting to the top of dancehall rock and he is a top contender at the MOBO’s.
